It sucks learning the stuff the hard way.

It sucks finding out who your friends are...and are not.

It sucks not being able to trust anyone.

It sucks seeing the pain in my son's eyes.

It sucks not being able to escape this roller coaster ride.

Why cant people just tell the truth, say what they mean, and mean what they say?

Are there any more genuine people out there?

I'm the ignorant one...

I had this conversation on facebook today...I think he was more concerned about being right than simply stating his opinion. I dont even blelieve in fight or flight-actions are chioces-period.  I love when a simple debate turns into means I won.  And frankly, I wasn't even trying 'win' anything, just stating my opinion and another POV, not even too the great debater, it was someone completely different lol.  And I wasn't even saying he was wrong...whos to say which one of us is right?  Of course he is, maybe becuase he is younger? or because he is a male?  or becuase he has long skankish hair?

Here it is...
A man who was charged with illegally recording a movie in 2009 is suing the borough Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, alleging that an officer intentionally 'mowed him down' with a police cruiser while trying to arrest him.

    • John Leitch that's what he gets for trying to release a cam. anything below an R5 should be a crime.
    • Laura Cronk Rogers I think running from the police should be considered admition of guilt and they should be able to subdue you anyway they can...including running your ass over.

    • John Leitch I agree, deadly force should be used to punish those who experience an instinctual fight-or-flight response. Kill everyone.

    • John Leitch Sarcasm? None at all. Do away with due process and let the police handle punishments! It's about time we let the state sanctioned gangs take the gloves off. Can't wait for the return to feudalism!

    • Laura Cronk Rogers Due process is perfect for those who don't run from it. The guy ran for a reason, I mean I dont just take off running b/c a cop is walking towards me?

Yes, he did run for a reason: a biological response called fight or flight. It's the also same reason why many who don't run "resist" by struggling once they are restrained. Being surrounded by a uniformed group of armed men is a rather str...essful situation. Also note that the man stopped, and was run down anyway.

You are condoning the police permanently disabling a man who video taped some shitty comedy. Perhaps you should take a moment to reevaluate your opinions.

Well thats the great thing about opinions, we are both entitled to our own and neither needs 'reevalutating' Innocent people dont run or resist, it also said that he went around a corner and stopped, it didnt say the man was 'run down' the... cop may have not seen that he stopped from around the corner and have enough time to stop. Im not saying that is what I believe but neither of us were there. I will support the authority over some random person who was caught breaking the law. No one is perfect, including police, I am sure the officer had some biological responses going too and they are being condemned for it, but not the criminal. I should reevaluate my opinion, but that criminal had plenty of chances to reevaluate his chioces, he knows there are consequnses for his actions. I will agree to disagree.See More

Actually innocent people run all the time. If you ever feel like taking the time look through OTIS and see how many people you can find who were convicted of fleeing alluding alone i.e. their only "crime" was running from the police. These ...people were presumably innocent before they decided to run.

Fight-or-flight is not an opinion, it's a well documented physiological response to acute stress. Not really sure what to tell you here--either read about it or revel in your own ignorance.

Whether he intended to run the man down or not is inconsequential; the end result is the same: a man's life has been drastically altered in a negative way because of the officer's actions. Maybe the cop should have stopped pretending his life was an action movie before he got behind the wheel of the cruiser.

Finally, pirating a movie should be a civil issue, not criminal. The police shouldn't have even been involved.

RE: gay marriage

So a couple of my friends have posts about their veiws on gay marriage, either there is something going on in their states or I am just out of the loop of what the hell is going on the US!  haha.  Either way, since both had different views I am just going to make a post of my views instead of typing it up twice!

Buntly:  I dont think gay 'marriage' should be legal, I am all for civil unions.   Reasons:  Marriage is made for man and woman, the bible states gay marriage is wrong.  I know, I know, seperation of church and state.  Sorry but that came AFTER the constitution, which was founded on Christianty.  Marriage is a religous ceremony.  You can't use seperation of church and state when you are arguing a religous ceremony.   As Christians we need to be tolerant and love everyone with out judgement and I also understand that my religious views are not everyone's views and it is not my place to say that same sex relationships should not be able to unite and have the benifits of a married couple.  But marriage is man and woman, a religious ceremony, God FORBIDS homosexuality (Mt 19:4-6, Rom 1:26, 27, 1 Cor 6:9, 1 Tim 1:10...etc.).  I realize that everyone is free to believe what they want, whether its in God, god, god's, or no god and we are to love and respect everyone the same, we are not the ones to judge.  I dont think that just because you do not believe in God or his laws that your beliefs are to be stepped on but I also expect the same respect in that the religiousness of marrige is not trampled on by someone who isn't following God's laws anyways?   Politically, gays should be able to unite and have the same legal benifits of a heterosexual marriage, but marriage is a religous ceremoney between a male and female.   God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

Feel free to debate my point of view respectfully :)  No one will be  disrespected or unfriended for their POV, but lets keep it civil :)

There's a pro-life movement going on tomorrow that I'm going to do. If you haven't heard about I'm posting more info.

March 31st, 2009

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.
